Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology

I am very happy to announce that, following my BSc. in Health Sciences, I applied and was selected for a Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

What does this mean for the Blog?

Bioinformatics is a very broad area, applicable in many scientific sectors, such as Microbiology so I decided to take this opportunity and turn it into a source of knowledge for Microbiology Explained. Therefore, I will have a category dedicated exclusively to articles of academic nature, where I will post class notes and reflections along the semester, as well as my experience regarding the master’s degree.

I believe it will be a very positive addition to the Blog!

  1. Glad to hear this. If you have the dedication to explore bio-data I think there’s a lot of potential to help people understand gene and protein expression as well as regulation to find the keys to our biological kingdoms. Wishing you the best.

      • Thanks Ana. I am traveling with a friend that has been to Lisbon before so I am in good hands. If you have any advice about something to do or food to eat that only locals know about, I would appreciate it. Incidentally, I was reading up about Amsterdam and learnt that there is a microbiology museum there called Micropia. Interesting idea.
